I love this shot. We’re on Hawaii during our family trip there in 2003. Colin couldn’t really swim at the time, but he learned to snorkel using a flotation vest. He was so excited to see the fish (and turtles, and coral, and…) that he talked constantly. I couldn’t understand a word he said through the snorkel.

Here is a picture my brother took of me on a porch, these dogs jumped in my lap and wouldn’t calm down, it took about 5 minutes to get them to calm down before we could do anything, they were so happy to see a person. It was so hot, and the water so horrid. I wore a swiftwater type PFD for extra buoyancy because I DID not want my face to get close to that water, a rash guard for sun burn, and a hat as a helmet it was just way too hot and miserable, the sun was intense, and then pants with socks and very thick fishing waters, since there was so many petroleum products in the water I didn’t want to wear a dry suit.
