Tortuga Island, Costa Rica – two tourists and one native
This is a pig-type animal that I am calling a "javalena", but that was not identified for me. He was on the island where we stopped for lunch after snorkeling. He was a pet, quite tame and ready to be…well, petted and fed from the tables. The children were with their parents on a holiday from Switzerland.
Makalawena Beach

We drove down a rough road to get to this amazing white beach. There were several groups of people camping in the shade of the trees and local kids body-boarding in the light surf. I went for a swim and saw a pair of turtles grazing in the shallows.
Isla Roatan – Bay Islands, Honduras

This is the view from our cruise ship, looking down onto the port complex.The water and coral were absolutely beautiful on Roatan, and of course it only gets better as you move away from the dock!
